FEATURE LENGTH

Feature films submitted to screen in the FF20 will be shown in the section determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, at their sole discretion. Feature-length (40 minutes or longer) films that have not screened publicly in Montana are favored.

SHORT LENGTH

Short-length films submitted to screen in the FF20 will be shown in the section determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, at their sole discretion. Short-length (under 40 minutes) films that have not screened publicly in the Montana are favored.

Up For Consideration

We encourage creativity as well as a clean final product. We are looking for Horror & Horror-Comedy films to highlight for features & short blocks. Eligible projects include scripted work for film, TV, & digital. Submitted projects must have a storytelling element; projects that are strictly intended as commercial spots will not be considered as eligible for awards.

DATES & FEES

At this time, FEES are based on Categories for submissions and range from $1-$20. Please review our FilmFreeway page for dates of deadlines. Selected competing films will be screened at the Covellite Theater in Butte, Montana, on Oct 29th, 30th, 31st.

FF20:
Made The Cut

All selected showcases  will earn the rights to place the coveted “Made the Cut” FF laurels on their posters, websites, and any other promotional material they see fit.

Fester Feature Film Prize

Considered the grand prize of feature length film. Special laurels will be presented as well as a 10″ physical award for the recipient of the prize. 

Fester Short Film Prize

Considered the grand prize of short length film. Special laurels will be presented as well as a 9″ physical award for the recipient of the prize. 

Audience Award: Slaughtered

Considered the grand prize for a humorous or over the top feature or short. Special laurels will be presented as well as a 7″ physical award for the recipient of the prize.
